Safety Coordinators are responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing company's employee safety at work. Their main duty is to ensure that the company complies and adheres to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines to reduce work-related injuries. The safety coordinator involves enforcing company health and safety guidelines, inspecting workspaces and products to ensure they are up to safety standards, and providing workplace safety training. Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement OHS policies and programs
  • Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics
  • Prepare educational trainings on a regular basis
  • Review existing policies and procedures
  • File/track Workers Comp claims
  • Ensures semi-annual fire drills are conducted to maintain employee readiness
  • Adhere to all the rules and regulations
  • Inspects working conditions to ensure all products and activities are compliant with safety guidelines
  • Conduct risk assessment
  • Processes workers compensation documentation
  • Enforce preventative measures
  • Manage emergency location sheets for each dealership
  • Send out monthly safety tip emails
  • Identify process bottlenecks and offer timely solutions
  • Conducts annual safety inspections in all dealerships
  • Manage forklift training/tracking
  • Stays up to date on new state and federal heath and safety regulations
  • Recognize safety trends
  • Check if all employees are acting in adherence with rules and regulations
  • Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations and determine causes
  • Oversee workplace repair - installations and any other work that could harm employees' safety
  • Prepare and submits annual Raffles OSHA/Fleet reports
  • Writes and revises company safety handbook
  • Willing to travel out of state to Idaho
Qualifications
  • Ability to write policies and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management - public groups and/or boards of directors
  • Ability to define problems - collect data - establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to read - analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals - financial reports and legal documents
